Visit three Northern Therapeutic Communities (TC's) in one day!
If you are interested in Therapeutic Communities and if you would like to visit some different North-East parts of The Netherlands, you should come to Eelde-Paterswolde (in the Province of Groningen) on Wednesday 3rd June 2009 to visit our TC for young people (De Breegweestee), for adults (Hoog-Hullen) and for addicted parents with children (De Lage Kamp).
We will welcome you at ‘De Lage Kamp' around lunchtime. After having shown you around in one of Netherlands most unique institutions you are invited to have a nice lunch together.
After lunch you will leave for Hoog-Hullen. The beauty of the historical building and its special atmosphere will amaze you. There will be enough time to look around and exchange ideas with the inhabitants. Our Running Therapist might invite you for a training session!
The Therapeutic Communities form a component of the Addiction Care chain which is offered by Verslavingszorg Noord Nederland (VNN).
We will inform you about the other components of the Care chain, such as Information & Prevention, Judiciary Addiction Care and several forms of Assistance (for example low-threshold accessibility for everyone, user spots, methadone treatment).
We emphasize on the continuity of treatment in these TC's in which different types of residential settings and employment-mediation take a centre position.
By the end of the afternoon you will leave for ‘De Breegweestee'; our third TC of today's visit. Our team as well as the inhabitants are most happy to welcome you.
We will finish this special day together with the inhabitants and employees of the TC's enjoying a lovely dinner for a closer encounter.
A bus will take you to Groningen and back to The Hague in the evening, there is a maximum of 50 people, so first come first serve!
We are looking forward meeting you on 3rd June!

Visit to ‘De Kiem' en ‘De Sleutel'
A bus will take you to Belgium, there is a maximum of 50 people, so first come first serve!
‘De Kiem' and ‘De Sleutel' are two of the oldest Therapeutic Communities (TC) for drug addicts in Belgium, founded over more than 30 years ago. Both locations are situated in the Province of Oost-Vlaanderen, close to the city of Gent.
You will be able to visit and meet these two Therapeutic Communities, as well as some other modules from the Oost-Vlaanderen network namely: Crises Care, a Therapeutic Community for Dual-Diagnosed patients and a project for women with children.
Many organisations in Flanders are involved in the field of addiction care. Each Province has started it's own network with the intention to build up and expand a care circuit of substance abuse.
The Care Units consist of several modules which represent all necessary care routes per target group. This way custom-made care and continuity between care phases can be guaranteed.
We will be happy to welcome you and inform you about all ins and outs of these care circuits including several modules.
We are pleased to offer you a nice lunch and supper.
