Call for abstracts
The European Federation of Therapeutic Communities is delighted to invite you to the European Conference on Rehabilitation and Drug Policy in 2009.We thank everyone who has submitted an abstract!

Abstracts must conform to the following requirements:
Guidelines abstract submission:
All abstracts must:
- be submitted in English
- include a short title (up to 20 words)
- indicate to which theme the abstract belongs (A / B / C / D / E)
- in case of submitting a short case study (two minute presentation),
identify this in the title (i.e. "a case study of...")\ - not exceed more than 150 words (the actual description)
- be structured with headings
- include names of all authors
- describe original work, not previously presented or published
- be submitted on the appropriate form for all presentation types: oral, poster or movie
The Scientific Committee will accept the abstract in the following formats:
Oral Presentations
Thirty (30) minutes will be allocated to oral presentations including questions. All presentations can make use of Powerpoint projection.
Short case study presentations will be allocated ten (10) minutes for oral presentations including questions.
Poster Presentations
Posters should be 1 meter wide and 1.5 meter high. Authors should attend their posters during the allocated time to answer questions.
It is possible to have a 3 minute poster presentation, as a start of a plenary session. Please note there will be poster presentations in the conference vicinity.
Workshops
Workshops are one (1) hour in duration as a general format.
A workshop is an interactive debate in which the participants are actively engaged in exploring the issues surrounding the topic. A description of the format/process you plan to use to ensure this outcome is desirable.
Movies / Documentaries
Movies or documentaries can be submitted, and can be shown during the conference. They can be in the original language, but English subtitles is a requirement.
Workshop Presentations
In addition to the requirements for oral or poster presentations, abstract proposals for workshops should also include:
- a description of the practical knowledge to be provided to attendees
- proposed maximum of 20-30 attendees
- identity of presenters
- proposed timeframe for the workshop
- and any special equipment required for the workshop
Abstract Selection
The Scientific Committee will review abstracts for suitability for presentation at the Conference, based on scientific validity and subject matter. The committee will give due consideration to requests of the submitting authors as to presentation format, but given the limited number of oral presentations available, the Scientific Committee may determine that some abstracts are better suited to a poster rather than oral presentation.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS: 12th OF MARCH 2009
LEAD AUTHORS (OTHER CO-AUTHORS WILL NOT BE NOTIFIED) WILL BE NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL REGARDING THE DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE BEFORE 1st OF APRIL 2009
